Fibre - Reinforced Polymers (FRPs or Carbon FRP) – Beton Plaque

Carbon fiber composites are made of carbon fibers withvery high resistance. They are applied in the static reinforcement of buildings because they increase the flexural and shear strength of the structure. They appear in 2 forms: the carbon fibre sheet and the carbon fibre stripes.
The carbon fibre sheet is woven carbon fibers arranged in one or 2 directions while the stripes are very thin condensed carbon fibers (1,2-1,4 mm thickness) in various widths.
They apply to the strengthening of columns, slabs, beams, etc. and are attached with the help of special epoxy resins in one, two or more layers.

The advantages of carbon fiber are:
• Applies easily and quickly
• Provides high resistance to the reinforced elements
• Does not affect the static stiffness of the structure

Similar to the carbon fibre polymers are the glass fiber reinforced polymers (GFRPs) with fibers of glass and with a lower resistance.

Beton Plaque is a technique by which sheets of steel are cut in various sizes and thicknesses and are widely  applied in the static reinforcement of buildings because they increase the flexural strength of slabs, beams, columns and nodes. They are attached with the help of special epoxy resins and special plugs.
